Safely disconnecting hardware?
For every hardware I connect to the USB port of the computer, I always make sure to safely disconnect it at the initiation before I unplug it from the computer. I make sure to wait till the icon disappears from the computer before I disconnect.
But, even when I do disconnect from the computer, the screen of the hardware itself (my PSP, mp3 players, PMP, etc) continues saying usb connected, even when I have safely disconnected it (note: it is still plugged into the computer but technically disconnected. Hope you get what I mean.) The only thing that doesn't do this is my ipod nano 3rd gen, which I always use the itunes program itself to disconnect, and the modest loading bar appears telling me when it is safe for me to physically disconnect it.
Can anyone tell me the wits as to why the message never shows up on my hardwares? This hasn't really been a problem for me, but I always wondered why.
Thank you for your time. :D
